On the Construction of Reality. Inspired by linguists like Barthes, Jakobson and Chomsky, Taoism and Quantum Mechanics, I tried to formulate a theory of reality construction. This theory is founded on two thesis. Firstly there is only reality if there is difference or change. You can only have “a dot” if there also is the state of “non dot”. Implementing this in time a dot appears and then vanishes again. The relation between a dot and non dot is what I call metonymical. Secondly there is only reality if it is perceived. To perceive a metonymical relation you need another metonymical relation. The relation between those two metonymical relations is what I call metaphorical. A dot can only stay the same or change. By comparing it to another dot it is articulated. The scheme below shows the metonymic and metaphoric relations of a case where a patient is being diagnosed . The first scheme illustrates whether he has the flu. The second scheme tests whether he has a hangover. if you are looking for the smallest thing to exist, you are actually looking for a metaphor. The smallest thing has qualities which describe it. These descriptions are the metonymia of the metaphor. The metaphor is calculated by summoning all the relations between the observer and the object and comparing this with the sum of these relations. There is always a threshold value to determine whether the metaphor is true or false. In this formula x and y are two arrays or configurations that are compared to each other. The variable i checks for every element of these arrays.To be reliable you need more elements in the array than those three of the example . This formula can be used to measure correlation of digital data. It is in fact a correlation coefficient like the correlation coefficient of Pearson. If two arrays are correlated they will react likewise throughout the data. All patients with a flu will score on fever, muscle aches and headaches. People with a hangover will probably not score on fever.
